Founded in 1981, NHG Timber Ltd is a UK-based family business with deep roots in the international timber trade. Our journey began with Nick Goodwin’s seven years in West Africa, where he developed a passion and expertise in tropical hardwoods — a focus that remains at the heart of our business today.
We specialise in sourcing Tropical and Temperate Hardwoods as well as Softwood Clears, offering bespoke solutions tailored to the unique needs of both buyers and suppliers. Our goal is always to build long-term relationships through trust, transparency, and practical business support.

Over the decades, NHG has grown into a leading international timber trader, sourcing from West Africa, Europe, North and South America and the Far East. We’ve proudly sold into 65 countries, giving our suppliers access to a diverse range of markets and our clients a wide selection of species, specifications and grades.
