FAREWELL JULIAN
Posted on: Tuesday 19th Jul 2022
On the 31st of May 2022 the curtain fell on a career spanning over 39 years at NHG Timber. Saying goodbye to a member of staff is never easy but in Julian’s case it was harder than ever.
Julian De Wilton joined the company in 1983, supporting Nick Goodwin in the formative years of his trading career. He proved from the outset to be a trusted and loyal member of staff, willing to turn his hand to anything requested of him. Over the course of his long and distinguished career he has seen innumerable changes to the trade and to the company itself. Julian has been one of the few constants throughout the past four decades, embracing changes in technology, trade regulations and new colleagues with consummate ease. Since Nick Goodwin’s retirement in 2017, Julian has been a reassuringly steady influence to the team and a great support to the management team.
Usually, it is difficult to know what you will be missing until it’s gone but in this case we are all too aware of the chasm that Julian will leave behind. A model professional, true gentleman, fountain of knowledge and valued colleague, he will be sorely missed by all of us that worked with him and by our clients and suppliers that he has served so well over the years.
We wish Julian a long, happy and thoroughly deserved retirement.
