NHG Timber Ramps Up for EU Deforestation Regulation with Africa Compliance Trip 2025

With less than four months to go before the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) takes effect, NHG Timber Ltd is reinforcing its commitment to proactive compliance and customer support.

At the start of 2025, NHG Timber’s Compliance Manager, alongside Directors and Traders responsible for West African sourcing, completed a due diligence trip across Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, and Cameroon. Conducted in February through April 2025, the visits focused on:

  • Traceability audits to confirm end-to-end supply chain integrity
  • Full EUDR audits on visited suppliers, ensuring early implementation and conformance with the regulation
  • Supplier collaboration sessions, reinforcing shared commitments to legality, sustainability, and transparency

This trip builds on NHG Timber’s long-standing compliance with UKTR and EUTR, while demonstrating clear leadership in preparing for EUDR’s stricter requirements.
